TOWII Renewables ready to build wind farms in Finland

30/06/2025

TOWII Renewables will construct two wind farms in Finland, marking a significant step forward in its ambition to develop green energy both in Denmark and internationally.

TOWII Renewables – a joint venture equally owned by the Danish energy group EWII and Japan’s Tokyo Gas – has acquired two wind power projects from Puhuri Oy and will continue as the project developer. This investment strengthens TOWII Renewables’ commitment to developing sustainable energy projects both domestically and abroad.

“The investment in Finland is yet another milestone in our international ambitions, following the start of activities in Sweden and the establishment of a Swedish subsidiary in 2023,” said Oliver Wolgast, CEO of TOWII Renewables.

The two wind farms – Kopsa III Wind Power Project and Ketunperä Wind Power Project – will be developed near the city of Raahe, located in North Ostrobothnia, Finland. Each wind farm will comprise six wind turbines, providing TOWII Renewables with a total capacity of approximately 74.4 MW.

“The projects are developed in close cooperation with our Finnish partner Puhuri Oy. Having an experienced local partner at our side is very valuable to us, and we hope to expand our partnership to other projects in the future”, Oliver Wolgast added.

Funding Future Projects

By 2030, Finland aims to increase the share of renewable energy to 51%. TOWII Renewables will contribute to this green transition by acquiring the rights of two wind projects.

”The investment in the Finnish wind farms will not be a one-off initiative. TOWII Renewables is committed to the Finnish market and investigating possibilities for development of additional projects in the future”, said Oliver Wolgast, CEO of TOWII Renewables.

TOWII Renewables’ two Finnish wind farms are expected to be operational in the first half of 2027.
